Easter commemorates our Savior’s triumph over sin, and we take joy in spending this special time with family and friends and reflecting on the many blessings that fill our lives. During this season of renewal, let us come together and give thanks to the Almighty who made us in His image and redeemed us in His love.

On this glorious day, we remember our brave men and women in uniform who are separated from their families by great distances. We pray for their safety and strength, and we honor those who gave their lives to advance peace and secure liberty across the globe.

However, I don’t have the strength to advance because the season has pulled the plug on my strength, and I feel I cannot stand and advance.’ But hear Me! I will energize your blood and cause My Spirit to touch you and go into places in your heart that have not been touched. I will cause the joints in your body to begin to have new energy and cause them to move in ways they have not moved. Do not despair because by My Spirit and new energy will come upon you.

The warfare that you’ve been contending in, the conflict that you’ve been standing in, will not overtake you. Stand still! In the midst of your stillness, I am beginning to release new mantles; you will stand face to face with Me, and then your enemy will see My reflection in your face. I AM rising up within you a sound that will come through you and cause the enemy to shake. Where the enemy has held your gate closed–the gate will come open. You will say, ‘A new day has broken.’

Some of you are saying, ‘I hate this storm that I am in the midst of riding out.’ But hear Me again! Because you won’t spread your wings and catch the wind of this storm, you are having trouble coming above its fury. Catch the wind! Catch the wind! My Spirit is blowing. Do not fear this economic strategy and structure that the enemy is voicing in the nations. Catch My wind in this economic storm! The dips and the lows will cause you to soar high. Throw your chest into the adverse winds and allow the wind to catapult you to a high place.

There are things that have been chasing you. Turn now and face that adverse wind. I will come with grace in the adversity and catapult you to a new level. You will see every movement in the field–the snakes, the rodents, and the treasures. Soar, see, and be catapulted into an enlarged place.

The Potter’s wheel that you have been on has been a necessary season for you. I AM doing a chiseling work to give you a new identity. Receive what I am creating. I AM placing My mark, My design, on your next season. One smooth blow will release the diamond that has been hidden in the rough. Look at the design that I have laid for your future. Look at the Craftsman’s hand because as I come down upon the chisel, you will see the breaking away, and what’s been hidden will be seen. Do not be afraid of that blow to come! I AM sending forth a sound into your inner being that will break up the dams that have held back your waters of Life. These waters will aid Me in your forming.

I am causing new languages to arise in My people. This will thwart the enemy’s plan to defile My purposes in you. If you will trust Me to do this one thing in you that has stopped you from being transformed into a mind of prosperity, you will succeed and failure will leave you. One small hit will change the course of your life and your direction. Your compassions have grown hardened. I must release this blow. I must cause the very depths of you to roar and to roar again. I AM creating a movement within you so you can digest what I will be doing in the four months ahead. Let the depths of your being roar with My sound. This sound will create the ability for you to absorb what occurs in the next four months.

Your inward being must embrace My THUNDER! This is a season that you shall hear thunder in the Heavens. As I thunder from the Heavens, know it is the voice of the Lord that is coming to you. For the thunder would create fear in the hearts of many. But for those of who fear the Lord, you will hear this thunder as a new sound from Heaven. This sound will cause you to come into the new place! My voice is coming to break you from all that would hold you in an old place. The thunder of the Lord is My manifest sound in the Heavens!

Do not fear what the enemy would do. For I Am thundering a new place for you and a new protection for you! Many would even run and hide in the day of storm. But you shall run into the storm and have victory over the storm! Let My thunder roll and break every place of fear from you. This will cause you to come into the new season where My light and My sun shall break forth out of the storm, out of the thunder. A new day is arising and the sun shall come and rest upon you. Do not fear this season of storm. This is your season to break through. Overcome the storm and rise up in a whole new place.”

He loves you too much to let you stagnate at any one stage of development. As my friend Mark Chironna says, “don’t settle for less when your heart is crying for more.” Every new level with God requires you to meet Him in a new way, and every new way exposes you to a manifestation that is different than what you have seen previously. On a personal level, this expands and enlarges our view of who He is and what He does in our lives.

The story of David exemplifies what God is advancing now in many of our lives. There are three areas of development that the Lord took David through. His ultimate goal is to make you a leader who fits this description:

David “fed them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of hands” (Ps. 78:72)
                  
The first area is located in the heart, and deals with the issues of integrity and motivation. Motivation reveals the reason why you do something. When it comes to divine assignments a divided heart tries, but a unified heart does.

The second area is knowledge; this measures your understanding of your assignment, yourself, life and most importantly, Gods ways. It represents your insight into what a person is going to do.

The third area involves an individual’s skill, which determines how well one can execute a task. Your gifts, talents and acquired skill reveal how you will accomplish your assignment.

Initially, David warred with the house of Saul. This is the drama of two competing systems. One exemplified commitment to a future that God wanted to manifest through David, and the other, a commitment to a past that Saul did not want to let go of. David was promoted to authority supernaturally through divine appointments and the favor of God.

The processes through which God took David, enabled him to receive three anointings. David’s first anointing came when Samuel anointed him. Saul fell out of favor with God because he was unfaithful; thus, the favor went to David to carry out the Lord’s assignment.

Consider some of Gods unique ways:
1. When the King couldn’t sleep at night he called for David to play music, and the anointing that was upon David caused the demons to flee the king’s chamber.
2. God used the natural talent that David had with both a harp and sling shot, anointed him and then used him to carry out his Mission.
3. God used the arrogance of Goliath in a national crisis to promote David to national influence. There are national problems that God has set up that can only be solved by a person He anoints with a solution. This is the way He takes His chosen people into a place of power to influence nations. When that giant came down and David beheaded him with his own Philistine sword, the strongman and all of the demon forces that were over the Philistines were cut off as well.

The first anointing from Samuel provided divine enablement, but it was God’s processing of David in circumstances that developed his integrity.

God allowed David to be driven from the King’s circle into a cave. This time of immense discomfort and stretching became necessary for the formation of the great man that God needed David to be. In order to do this and stay sane, young David needed a comforter – the Holy Spirit. He built this extraordinary relationship by worshiping God during his ordeals. In essence, God enlarged David when he was in distress:

“Thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress”

His second anointing came from the tribe of Judah when he graduated from the school of divine stretching!

The third anointing was released when all of Israel came to Hebron. Curiously, the people declared that they knew he was king all along. This anointing of recognition becomes active when the body of Christ sees what gift God has given you and activates what has been dormant in your life by simply recognizing the gift. This third anointing moved David to the next level, the high places of Jerusalem and Mt Zion. Their agreement released him to lead all of Israel to possess the high places as well.

Dr. Bobby Clinton, a celebrated Professor from Fuller Theological Seminary has spent thirty years documenting the journey of Christians. He says, “Eighty percent of believers do not consider themselves to have succeeded in fulfilling their ultimate calling.”

God provides revelation and anointing for people, but not all choose to step into their greatness. In order to get there one must have to go through deep processing, just like David did. Most, however, give up one third of the way through the journey!

In spite of difficult processing, it is critically important for God’s people to never lose heart! There is not one vessel who was significantly used by God who was not acquainted with chapters of great conflict and contradiction. You must continue to climb to the high places, because the ones who are going to advance the kingdom can only do so when they overturn Hell’s counsel in high places. These noble warriors see a clear vision of the future God is seeking to make manifest. They carry the future with them and they bring the future into the present. As David saw our day of unhindered access to Gods throne, he was able to bring David’s Tabernacle it into his own. Current day David’s see Christ’s future glory revealed in the nations and actually begin to bring that glory into the realm they stand in today. God allows them to taste the powers of the age to come so the nations might see and know the gospel of the kingdom demonstrated before their eyes as a witness.

David time-traveled out of the limitations of the old covenant by entering the presence of God through his worship. He prophetically saw the future of our coming into the presence of God with unveiled access to his glory, by traveling out of the limitations of the old covenant and entering into the presence of God himself.

With your new covenant, take action and call upon the Lord for the increase of His anointing! Expect great process events, but equally great rewards! Now, more than ever, the earth needs Christians who are willing to tread through the valleys before conquering the great mountains. Accept your mission, embrace your anointing, and take your mountain!

From generation to generation, God continuously searches for people whom He can use to carry out His plans. As it was in David’s generation, God was also searching for someone He can use. Before David emerged, Saul, for a certain period of time, appeared to be the perfect candidate to execute God’s plans and will. Nevertheless, for one and other reasons, Saul had a tendency to ‘edit’ each command God gave him; he never did exactly as what God has required. As a result, God rejected Saul and sent Samuel in search of Saul’s substitute. He specifically said to Samuel, “I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons” (1 Sam. 16:1). In a secret way and a time unknown by anyone, the hands of the Lord had formed the life of David, so that when the perfect time to promote David came, He did not have to tarry to find the perfect man for the perfect job.

In eternity, in every generation, in every situation/circumstance, in every community, city and nation, God is looking for people whom He can use. As you continue to give yourself in God’s hands for the process and preparation to take place in your lives, when the perfect time comes and the need for the right man emerges, He will find you as the right person because He has said: “I have found David.”  

The Bible says that David built his intimate fellowship with God while taking care of his father’s sheep – that was why he was never a stranger in God’s presence.

The reason why David had such confident when fighting his enemies (first was Goliath) was because the Spirit of the Lord was upon him. 

As long as we get used to being in God’s presence and we are open for His impartation to come into our lives and change us, though people may not be able to see our potentials but God will because of the work He has done in our live. 

The next verses of Psalm 89 are promises and blessings that God has made available for David:
 
“…with whom My hand shall be established; also My arm shall strengthen him” (v. 21)  The Lord’s hand speaks of the authority/power that goes with a person, while arm always speaks of God’s protection and defense. 
 
“The enemy shall not outwit him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him. I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague those who hate him” (v. 22-23)  when we penetrate into the market place as God’s ambassadors, His protection and defense will be so real that the wicked will be wiped out. 
 
It has been God’s very desire to raise every believer to become a Global Leader. The characteristic that a global leader has is the true and intimate relationship with the God and at the same time is the respect, influence and power to impact the market place. 

For so long, many Christians are only great in spiritual things and church activities, yet they are nobody in the market place. Or, on the contrary, they might already have a bit of influence in the market place, yet they are ‘strangers’ in God’s presence. This is the time where God will bring forth the global leaders – people of influence in the market place and at the same time are closely connected to heaven.

“But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him, and in My name his horn shall be exalted. Also I will set his hand over the sea, and his right hand over the rivers” (v. 24-25)  God will enlarge our territories. At this present we may only have charge over one territory but He wants to enlarge it so that we can produce a greater impact. 
 
“He shall cry to Me, ‘You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.’ Also I will make him My firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth” (v. 26-27)  we will be set as a pattern where many people will learn from us.  
 
My mercy I will keep for him forever, and My covenant shall stand firm with him. His seed also will make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven” (v 28-29)  the work that God has begun in our lives will not cease just because of our death but the next generation will continue to live in the same pattern of life.
 
Therefore, it is time for us to allow God to mold and reshape our lives because it is His desire indeed to raise us as global leaders. Before we can see the fulfillment of His promises in Psalm 89:21-29, we need to make sure that we first fulfill verse 21, because that is where it all begins. 
 
How God deals with us and reshapes our lives will determine the work that He will do through our lives. Before God can raise us as global leaders, He must first take us through a process of preparation that is different from what other people – those who are influential but only in the Christian or secular arena – have gone through. It is God’s desire to position us are His ambassador on this earth, therefore He will continually mold us, such that we will be transformed into His image more and more. 

God will never send a man to represent Him before He finds godly materials in that person’s life. Without any mark of God’s hands in our hands, the recognition from heaven will never come upon our lives. That is why we should never runaway when God’s hand is taking us through the process, because without staying through to the end, promotion will never come to our lives. 

Different areas that God will reshape in our lives:
a. God will reshape us in the way we should respond. 
All this while we may be used to respond according to our emotions; God wants to teach us to begin to respond in a different way – with a godly response. At times, He would purposely allow negative events to happen in our lives because it is through those moments He would train us to respond differently. Remember, no matter how bad our experience is, we are the ones who determine whether it will be a stumbling stone or a stepping stone for us. 
b. God will teach us to have strong conviction on the truth He has taught us.
Besides re-training us in the way we should respond, God will also teach us to have a strong conviction when facing confrontation for the truth we believe in. When everything is good and challenge is absent, everyone can claim themselves Christians and that they live for the cause, but when challenge comes, those who live without a strong conviction will easily choose to compromise their faith and the truth they have been holding onto. We need to understand this principle: there will always be pressure and challenge for every truth that we believe in, but that pressure and challenge is only a test for us to develop our strong conviction and integrity. To live in the truth there will always be a price to pay and a risk to take, but if you endure, truth will always prevail. 
c. God will teach us to do the things that are totally different from what we are used to or things that we have never done before.
All this time we may be used to do spiritual activities only, but now He wants to train us to make decisions that will impact the lives of many people.  In business world, a businessman’s decision is very crucial in determining whether his business will go up or down. As God teaches us in decision- making, He will also let us walk through the impact of our decision making. If we make the right decision, victory will be ours. On the contrary, if we make the wrong decision, He will let us go through the negative consequences as the result of that mistake we make. Nevertheless, no matter what the consequences that we have to bear, just remember that He is always on our side and will always be with us.  Therefore, never put yourself in a box but learn to step out of your comfort zone you have been dwelling in all this time. 
d. God will teach us to only do the right things.
Oftentimes, it takes different decisions in different situations, which is why God will train us to have the ability to make the right decision in all kinds of situations. 
 
If God has given you the Word that He will raise you to be a global leader, then do not ever attempt on your own strength to promote yourself. Rather, let God’s hand elevate you and position you where He wants you to be, in due time. Our fleshly attempt to promote ourselves will only bring us many unnecessary troubles. As you let His Holy Spirit guide you one step at a time and you faithfully do whatever He has told you to do, then greater capacity He will give you and greater things He will assign to you.

“The covenant of prosperity is not a magic wand; it’s an adventure of faith.”Over the past few years, I have been in the loop on several negotiations which have the potential for releasing extraordinary amounts of wealth for the Kingdom of God. None of them has happened immediately or even as quickly as I thought reasonable. In this area, we can face a serious temptation to lose patience. However, it is important to keep in mind that there is a close relationship between patience and faith. Without faith, we cannot please God. If the enemy causes us to lose patience, he has also dented our faith.

By and large, the apostles I am working with exhibit Godly patience. Patience (perseverance in some versions) is foundational to the character of a true apostle. Nevertheless, I am sorry to report that some who have been with me in preparing for the great transfer of wealth have failed the test of patience and jumped ship.

The most notable case of expecting immediate transfer of significant wealth began for me in August 2001. Starting with 9/11, that and many subsequent factors have entered the picture. Now, over five years later, somehow or other I still have the same high level of expectation that the money will be coming real soon. One thing that helps is that I have never yielded to the temptation to “spend” the money in my mind. Why not be patient? There is everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Let me share with you two very insightful short essays on patience relating to receiving the prosperity that God desires to provide for us. One is by David Oyedepo and the other by Nate Wolf. I believe you will enjoy them.

1. David Oyedepo

I recently read a book by one of my good friends in Africa, Bishop David Oyedepo, Understanding Financial Prosperity. Unfortunately, it is not yet available in the USA. He has notable credentials for writing the book. He pastors Faith Tabernacle which boasts the largest sanctuary in the world with 50,400 seats (deck chairs). It is located on over 600 acres. The building cost $250 million (US dollars), and it was all paid, debt free, by Nigerian money. The campus also houses Covenant University which cost another $250 million (US dollars), all paid, debt free, with Nigerian money.

I attended a Wednesday night prayer meeting with 6,000 in attendance, most of the men dressed in suits and ties. These men were at one time on the streets looking for the next meal, but one of Oyedepo’s discipling goals is to help his people become prosperous, and he is doing it. Not only does he teach them to save, but he has founded a bank right on the church campus, called “Canaan Land.”

Having said that, I was greatly encouraged by his chapter on patience, called “Waiting.” This is something I think all of us involved in wealth transfer should read. “Waiting” from the book Understanding Financial Prosperity, by David Oyedepo:

“For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, ‘Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.’ And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Hebrews 6:13-15

This is the eagle’s secret. God swore to Abraham, yet he needed patience to obtain that promise. The Bible said, “after he had patiently endured” not after he had subjected himself to rigorous senseless fasting, not after he had struggled and sweated it out; but after he had patiently endured.

Abraham needed to have endured. Indeed, every man, every “eagle Christian,” requires a degree of covenant patience. The covenant of prosperity is not a magic wand; it’s an adventure of faith. “After he had patiently endured….” not after he had wept aloud. We are not called to weep, but to wait.

In Habakkuk 2:3, God said that every vision is for an appointed time, so though it tarries, wait for it. Did He say weep for it? Did He say run around for it? No! Wait! “Wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”

The reason we are wasting is because we don’t like to wait. In 1981, God spoke to me, saying, “The hour has come to liberate the world from all the oppressions of the devil, through the preaching of the Word of Faith.”

That was a revelation for a world-wide ministry, but the mandate to go into Africa never came until 1994! Can you see the waiting period? “But at the end it shall speak.” When you run with it, it will speak at the end. Very many people miss that end, so it looks as if the vision or revelation is not true.

Please understand this: quick prosperity will always end in grievous austerity, because it lacks the required foundation for lasting results. Why Wait? Your lifting with God is for appointed times and due seasons, and He’s the only One who knows when your due season has come. If you strive to lay a hold of something before you’re due, you’ll be doomed.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9

Don’t be tired in covenant walk because there is a due season. If you’re on your feet when that season comes, you will reap your harvest, but if you faint, you fall.

“If it will work, it ought to have worked by now.” That’s murmuring. When you murmur, you destroy your seed down, and then you will have to begin all over again. God runs a due season calendar on each one of us. When you are due, He will not deny you. But if you faint before you are due, you lose it all. It’s better to wait or you waste. Abraham heard from God directly, yet he needed patience to obtain the promise. If you will not be patient, you may end up a patient in the hospital.

I caught the revelation that I cannot be poor in 1981, but that was not equal to automatic prosperity. But because I know what it takes, I never had occasion to beg, nor was I ever tempted to borrow.

“But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15

Though the seed fell on good ground, it could only bring forth fruit with patience. In a society that’s ever in a hurry as we live in today, we need an understanding of God that will keep us above the system. God said, “I know you’re honest, but you need patience. The day you are due, I will not deny you. Wait! Wait! Wait! The day you are due, you will see Me at work. Wait!”

God cannot deny Himself. Haven’t you heard what He said in Psalm 89:34? “My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.”
So we can count on Him in the morning, we can count on Him in the afternoon, and we can count on Him in the night. Everyone in this covenant has a future, but that future is continually being contested by the enemy. It takes covenant intelligence to beat him hollow. Waiting without staggering–that’s the secret of all high flying Christians.

2. Nate Wolf

“Patience is the power that will carry you through the painful moments of life into the pleasurable moments of life.”

Nate Wolf of Everett, Washington, is the founder of The Gatekeepers Network, an organization dedicated to equipping Christian business leaders. This is excerpted from Chapter 7 in his book, The Gatekeepers.

“GATEKEEPERS KNOW PATIENCE DOUBLES OUTCOME” from the book The Gatekeepers, by Nate Wolf:

Telephone books are filled with business names that use the words “quick,” “speedy,” and “minute.” Domino’s delivers fresh, hot pizza in under an hour. Jiffy Lube offers ten-minute oil changes. The U.S. Postal service is now known as “snail mail.” In today’s marketplace, patience may be a virtue, but it’s certainly not a commodity.

Does patience really have a place in the life of a Gatekeeper? I’ll have to admit, one of my favorite words is “now,” and one of my least favorite things is being stuck in the iron claw of gridlock, and even the name of my church is Today’s Church. However, the story of Job has great insight for us in this fast paced world of instant gratification.

Job was a man who took his whole life to build an impressive family owned business. Then in two days it was all gone–his business, his wealth, his family, everything. The book of Job is the story of how Job regained his lost wealth and went on to enjoy it with his great grandchildren.

The real story of the book of Job is a message resulting in a victorious final outcome–how one man lost everything and then regained double what was lost.

Job’s patience was the golden secret that helped him overcome the pain he faced. Patience is more than just having the ability to not become angry in a difficult situation. Patience is the power that will carry you through the painful moments of life into the pleasurable moments of life.

The Greek word translated as patience means “to be long in spirit or long in passion.” Patience is doing what God’s word says is right, longer than your problems can stand it. Sufficient exposure to the Word of God and the Holy Spirit before, during, and after crises will increase your patience (Galatians 5:22). The patience of God within you will always outlast the pain that’s trying to come upon you.

Patience is the power that will keep you in the proper place and mindset, during discomfort or pain, until you possess your final promise and reach your ultimate purpose.

Robert Heidler and I just completed a course on “New Weapons for New Warfare.” As we approach the end of a seven-year war season and prepare to begin a new war season with new levels of contention and resistance, we taught on the spiritual weapons we are given as well as the issues that we will face in the years ahead. During the class, I asked LeAnn Squier to share the following dream she had early on Monday morning:

“In my dream, a group of us were gathered in the living room of a house. A man dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans came through the front double doors with a black sniper’s rifle which included a high-powered scope. He first pointed the rifle threateningly at the group, and then pointed it at me. In a quiet manner, I asked him if it would be okay if we worshipped. He nodded yes. As we worshipped, we entered into a different realm. We became totally aware of God’s presence in the room and totally unaware of the man’s presence among us. The presence of God in our midst eclipsed everything else in the room.

When we finished worshipping, the presence of God lifted and I could again see the room, the surroundings, and the man with the rifle still pointed at me. I had literally forgotten he was there while the presence of God was manifest; this man had been completely eclipsed by God’s presence. I got up from the couch where I was sitting and walked gently over to talk to the man. I engaged him in a friendly conversation, and one of the other people with us joined in to talk to him. I looked down and noticed that he had laid his rifle down, and as I looked back up at him, a wide, relaxed smile had come across his face. I realized it had been a hostage situation and he was now, in a sense, disarmed.” –End of Dream

Through this dream I hear the Lord saying, “Many enemies are in your midst and are even entering into the boundaries that I have given you. But I am calling you to come into this new place with Me so My presence fills the domain that I have given you. If you will begin to worship Me and allow your domain to be filled with My presence, then even the enemies that are targeting you will let go of their hostilities. They will be repositioned in your place of authority. This is a time when I am repositioning your enemies in your sphere of authority. If you will worship, then My presence will disarm the enemy’s plan and that which the enemy had intent on doing, he will no longer be able to accomplish. Worship is key to My Harvest plan. Many of the enemies that I bring into your path will be converted and become subservient in your domain. This is an hour of DOMINION! Take dominion through worship!”

Through the miracle of prayer, we believe he listens — if we listen to his voice and seek our presence — his presence in our lives, our hearts will change. We ask Him to protect our nation from those who wish us harm — and watch over all who stepped forward to defend us. We ask Him to bring about the day when His peace shall reign across the world — and every tear shall be wiped away.

In prayer, we grow in mercy and compassion. We are reminded in prayer that we are all fallen creatures in need of mercy. And in seeking God’s mercy, we grow in mercy ourselves. Experiencing the presence of God transforms our hearts — and the more we seek His presence, the more we feel the tug at our souls to reach out to the poor, and the hungry, the elderly, and the infirm. When we answer God’s call to love a neighbor as ourselves, we enter into a deeper friendship with our fellow man — and a deeper relationship with our eternal Father.

I believe in the power of prayer, because I have felt it in my own life. Prayer has strengthened me in times of personal challenge. It has helped me meet the challenges of the presidency. I understand now clearly the story of the calm in the rough seas. And so at this final prayer breakfast as your President, I thank you for your prayers, and I thank our people all across America for their prayers. And I ask you not to stop in the year ahead. We have so much work to do for our country, and with the help of the Almighty, we will build a freer world — and a safer, more hopeful, more noble America.

Millions die every day from disease, starvation or violence. The stock market collapses and people who were millionaires one day are paupers the next. Corporations downsize and thousand are suddenly jobless. Extended joblessness creates financial distress resulting in evictions, which increases homelessness and the welfare burden of the state. Religious hatred between Christians, Muslims and Jews fuels daily conflict in many parts of the world, particularly the Middle East.

Is there any good news in the midst of all of this? Yes, indeed there is. For those who live and walk in the Kingdom of God, every day can be a good day, regardless of circumstances in the world. No matter how much unrest and turmoil swirls around us in the physical world, the Kingdom of God is stable. It cannot be moved. Unlike the kingdom of this world, God’s Kingdom is founded on eternal principles that will never fade or pass away.

Religion-a Human Invention: Mankind has tried in so many ways to relieve the fear, pain, and suffering that characterize so much of human life on earth. One way is through religion, which has not been any more successful than anything else because it too is a product of human invention and design. Religion is man’s attempt to discover God and find the solution to his own problem.

This is why God did not send us a religion. Instead, He sent us His Kingdom, eternal and unshakable. God’s Kingdom came to earth through the person of His Son Jesus Christ, who was its herald as well as its gateway. Christ did not come to Earth to start a religion or a religious organization or club. Jesus preached the Kingdom, but the Church preaches so many other things rather than the Kingdom.

Jesus’ overarching mission on earth was to reintroduce the Kingdom of God on Earth to mankind. When we say that Jesus came to reintroduce the Kingdom of God on Earth, this implies that at one time it was here before. Christ did not bring a new Kingdom to Earth, but an old, original Kingdom that had been lost. At one time, Adam and Eve were the Kingdom of God on Earth, ruling from the Garden of Eden. When they rebelled against God and fell into sin, the Kingdom departed.

Living In Perfect Harmony: Here is how the Kingdom was supposed to work. God the Father and Creator is in heaven, where He has always been. Remember that Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father in heaven.” Heaven is the domain of the Father, a spiritual realm that is invisible, yet greater and more real than the visible, physical realm that was created from it. God is the King of heaven, the Lord of all, the Creator, and the manufacturer of all things.

Man, the creature, is on the earth. Created in God’s own image and formed from the dust of the ground, man was placed in administrative authority over the Earth and all its other creatures. Since God is Spirit this means that man was created first as a spirit with the ability to communicate with the spiritual realm.

As the breath of God was breathed into man he became a living soul, endowed with self-awareness, personality and free will. In order to fulfill His design and intention of ruling the Earth through a physical representative, God then placed the spirit man He had created into a physical shell, a body fashioned from the dust (“dark earth” or adam) of the ground.

So here we have two realms: a spiritual realm capable of touching the realm of God, and a physical realm able to communicate in the earth regions. God’s purpose was for man to rule the Earth in His name and under His authority. This meant that God’s thoughts and desires were to be manifested in the mind of man so that God’s will could be done on Earth. The only way that God’s will can be accomplished on Earth is through the man He had created. There had to be a spiritual connection linking the two realms. For this reason, God created man with the capacity of receiving His Spirit.

When God came into the garden to fellowship with Adam, he heard the Lord’s voice and tried to hide among the trees. God called out to Adam, asking “Where art thou?” Adam replied, “I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself” (Genesis 2:8-10). Of course, God knew where Adam was all along. God is all knowing. He didn’t ask because He didn’t know. God knew where Adam was physically but He couldn’t find Adam in His Spirit. For the first time Adam was not connected to God through his spirit.

The Spirit of God was the vital link between man’s dominion on Earth and God’s dominion in heaven. He revealed the will of God to man and provided wisdom and guidance so that man could carry out God’s will on Earth. In this original order of things, perfect harmony existed between God and man. There was unity between heaven and Earth. Everything operated as it was supposed to. It did not stay that way.

The key to dominion: The key to man’s being able to manifest the Kingdom of God here on Earth is the presence of the Holy Spirit. Man cannot know God’s will except through the Holy Spirit living within him, and the Holy Spirit can live only in a holy vessel. Not only did Jesus come to reintroduce the Kingdom, but He came also to restore righteousness and holiness to mankind, both of which we lost in the Garden of Eden.

Jesus restored us to righteousness – to right standing with the Father – through His death for our sins. He made us righteous again, and when He did so, He also restored our holiness. To be holy means to be pure, without spot or blemish, set apart exclusively for God. When Adam and Eve sinned, they showed contempt for their holy state and took that which was meant for God and used it for profane and common purposes. That would be like taking a beautiful, solid gold goblet and using it to hold bacon grease.

How does Jesus make us righteous and holy again? Nothing less than the blood of Jesus was required. The Word of God says, “In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” (Hebrews 9:22). Only the blood of Jesus could cleanse our sin and remove the shame of our actions. That is why He had to die.

Just like the old hymn declares, “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood.” Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was Spirit, with no body or blood; Jesus, the man, had both. Jesus Christ was both 100 percent flesh-and-blood man and 100 percent divine Son of God. We cannot separate the two; to do so would be to deny the work that He did on the cross.

The Holy Spirit connection: We cannot worship Christ and forget about Jesus because without Jesus we cannot have Christ. The blood of Jesus cleansed our sin and created the basis for our forgiveness, making it possible for Christ to restore us to righteousness and holiness and bring us the Holy Spirit.

This is why any religion that denies Jesus has a problem. Everything is wrapped up in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross. If we do not have Jesus, that means our sins are still with us. Without the cleansing of our sins, we cannot become holy. Unless we become holy, we cannot become citizens of the Kingdom of God.

Why is the Holy Spirit so important? He is the link, the spiritual connection between us and the Kingdom of God. He is the one who fills us with spiritual powers, guides us, leads us into the knowledge of truth, and brings to our remembrance all the things that Jesus taught.

Jesus promised His disciples that after He left he would send the Holy Spirit to be with them forever. The Holy Spirit could not come until Jesus had completed His work on the cross, risen from the dead, and applied His blood for the cleansing of man’s sin. Once we were made cleansed and holy again, we were ready to receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus took care of that, too, before he ascended into heaven.

Breaking the slave mentality: As children of God, we are part of the royal family of the Kingdom of heaven. Like any other member of royalty, we don’t just step into the role without any preparation; we must be trained. Proper and careful training is essential for rulers in the making.

We must learn how to think and act like the royal children of the heavenly King. We have spent so long in the condition and mentality of slaves in the kingdom of darkness that we automatically think and act like slaves. If we are to exercise our full status and potential in the earthly realm as ambassadors of our Father, we must be retrained in the behavior and mindset of the Kingdom. In this task, the Holy Spirit is our tutor.

When we first become believers, we receive our new spiritual birth from Jesus Christ, Who then “turns us over” in a manner of speaking, to someone else – the Holy Spirit – for our training and up brining as children of the King.

Our faith is based on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but since He is in heaven seated at the right hand of the Father, the way He relates to us and we to Him is through the Holy Spirit. In His earthly incarnation, Jesus could not be continuously and physically present with all His followers, so He promised to send His Spirit who would abide with us forever and teach us how to think and act like the royalty we are:

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth…But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:116-17,16).

We need a tutor like the Holy Spirit because our minds and thinking are corrupt and it takes us a while to grasp and genuinely believe the truth about who we are in Christ. We are royal children of the Kingdom of God, but have spent our entire lives living in the slave quarters. Our thoughts and behavior won’t change overnight. The Holy Spirit lives in us as a continuing abiding presence, patiently and lovingly He is teaching us who we are and how to think, speak, and act accordingly.

How to handle freedom: One of the things the Holy Spirit teaches us is how to stand in authority as true sons and daughters of God no matter what troubles or difficulties come onto our circumstances, rather than being a slave to them. We can live in power and victory, rather than in weakness and defeat. All it takes is training, and the Holy Spirit is our Teacher.

In the kingdom of darkness we have been under Satan’s sway. Kicked out of heaven for rebelling against God, Satan fell to Earth as a nobody, then pretended to be a somebody by tricking Adam and Eve and usurping their earthly authority. Ever since then he has taught mankind to think of themselves as nobodies, just as he is.

After a lifetime of feeding on negativity and impossibility thinking, most of us have a certain amount of mental damage that the Holy Spirit must heal. We have been slaves for so long that we don’t know how to handle freedom. We apologize for getting ahead. We don’t believe we deserve or are entitled to the best.

That may have been true while we were sinners lost and separated from God. As believers, however, we have been restored to our place as God’s children and are entitled to all the blessing and benefits of that station. The retraining of our mind is part of what it means to give ourselves as living sacrifices to God. We cannot live effectively for the Lord until we learn to think like Him. That is what the Apostle Paul meant when he wrote to the Roman Believers:

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:1-2).

Paul is saying that we should not allow ourselves any longer to be molded by the world we have lived in all our lives but to be transformed by renewing our minds to think and conform to the mind of Christ. Renewing our minds means returning to the original mind that we had before the fall, a mind that loves and honors God and that understands its rightful place as a voice – regent of the earthly domain under God’s sovereign Kingdom rule.

Demonstrating Kingdom rule: Whenever Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, walked on water, calmed a storm with a word, or fed a multitude with a handful of fish and bread, He demonstrated the truth that God’s Kingdom had come to earth.

Whenever He preached the Good News of the Kingdom, or taught His followers about life in that Kingdom, and whenever people responded to Him in faith, He demonstrated the power of the Kingdom to impact human life and the environment.

Despite Adam and Eve’s fall in the Garden of Eden, God’s desire never changed. He still wanted to rule the Earth by manifesting His Kingdom through the Holy Spirit in the lives of people who were committed to Him and sold out to His lordship.

For 2,000 years, ever since the day of Jesus, He has been doing this in increasing degree as men, women and children in every generation have given their lives to Christ and allowed the Holy Spirit to work in and through them.

Each of us who turn to Christ becomes a “stone” in the magnificent spiritual “palace” of the Kingdom on Earth, called and equipped as kings and priests to represent that Kingdom before the rest of the world. The Apostle Peter stated it this way:

“As you come to Him, the living Stone – rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him – you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: ‘See, I lay a stone in Zion, a choice and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in Him will never be out to shame.’…But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy” (1 Peter 2:4-6; 9-10).

Restoring our kingship: Throughout human history, the religious society has generally separated priest and king into separate offices and functions, but God did not design them that way in the beginning. When God created us, He intended for us to be His repetitive rulers – His ambassadors over the rest of the created order. We were to be priests and kings in the Earth: as priests, representing God’s nature and character, and as kings, His Kingdom government.

Through Christ we are a “holy priesthood,” a “chosen people,” a “royal priesthood,” and a “holy nation.” As such, we have been restored to our priestly function of representing and reflecting God’s nature and character before the world. We are also the “people of God,” not a nation of subjects, but of sons and daughters. If God is a King, then we, His people, are also of the royal line. Therefore, we have also been restored to our kingly function of representing the government of God on the Earth.

God is not interested in having subjects in His Kingdom. He wants only children, royal heirs to the treasure of His domain.

Our mission as ambassadors of the Kingdom of God is to bring those who are enslaved in the kingdom of darkness to Christ, The Door, so that He can set them free to enter into their full citizenship in God’s Kingdom of light.

Blessings to you as you progress into the new! The Lord impressed me to send an “8-Day Prayer Focus” each month of this calendar year. From a prophetic perspective, this is a Feast of Tabernacles Year. In this year of “8″, the Feast represented by 8 is the Feast linked with Rosh Hashanah–the Feast of Tabernacles. This is the point in time when we enter the new season each year. This past year, the Feast of Tabernacles was from September 26-October 4. I think you should look back to see what was happening and stirring in your life at that intersection in time. You will probably find that the Lord was initiating or preparing you for some sort of ending and beginning at that time.

Each month of every year is linked with a blessing. The blessings of each month this year should be evaluated from the concept of “New Beginnings.” In the Feast of Tabernacles we are called to rejoice and remember our wilderness deliverances. After seven days of celebration, on the Eighth (8) day, we “Rest.”

This Eight (8) Day Pray Focus will assist you in entering into a new place with the Lord, or “going beyond” the place you have been halted or stopped in the past. All 8′s are linked with GOING BEYOND into a new level of GRACE!

Enter Into Your NEW!

The word NEW is an interesting word. All Eights (8′s) are linked with some “new” beginning. I love Isaiah 43:18-19 which says: “Stop dwelling on past events and brooding over times gone by! I am doing something NEW! It’s springing up–can’t you see it? I am making a road in the desert, rivers in the wasteland.”

A new thing can be happening, but in the midst of a beginning, we can fail to perceive the change. In this year of Eight (8), 5768 and 2008, we must remember and contextualize everything within the understanding that we are entering a “New Beginning.” Remember, an END always precedes a Beginning. Therefore, the question becomes this: “How are you reacting when an END comes and a NEW BEGINNING starts?”

I love the story of Lazarus’ death. This account is a perfect example of how to perceive an END and a NEW BEGINNING. Jesus is notified of Lazarus’ sickness and decides to not rush to meet the need. As a matter of fact, He chooses to go to Judea rather than Bethany, the home of Martha, Mary and Lazarus! His disciples have a very hard time grasping the reality of the situation. When He arrives in Bethany four days later, you find Martha standing and questioning the Lord over why He was not there when they needed Him. The Lord tells her, “Martha, if you would believe you would see the GLORY of God!” (paraphrased).

Mary then approaches the Lord with the same question, but her posture is one of falling at His feet as a sign of respect, honor and submission. Mary’s appeal to the Lord touched the core of His emotions, the very heart of God. This caused Him to groan deeply and release great compassion that led to resurrection power. This was a catalyst that created a chain of events that escalated the need for Him to complete His mission and get to Jerusalem and accomplish the redemptive plan of the Father for you and me.

All 8′s are linked with RESURRECTION POWER. The series of events that we see Mary creating is key to our lives this year. In all of your situations, circumstances, and endings, let a worship posture be exhibited. This will move the heart of God and release a catalytic change in the earth realm and atmosphere around you. “When it’s time for the NEW, your FOCUS should be: Am I PREPARED to wait until a full manifestation occurs?

To EVALUATE all new beginnings, ask yourself these questions:

1. Is the situation or circumstance you find yourself in causing you to question God’s heart and love toward you and making you RESIST your new beginning?

2. Is the enemy using your reaction to stop you from moving into God’s best?

3. Are you kicking against the pricks and attempting to move in a way that Holy Spirit is developing checks in your spirit? Are situations or circumstances creating roadblocks to STOP you from entering into a WRONG “new” beginning?

4. Is the situation or circumstance that is happening in your life initiating a chain of events leading to a new beginning? Sometimes one event in your life is a catalyst for many other things. Perhaps you have not seen the end of the thing that has begun to get you to your new place!

5. Is your situation or circumstance creating an offense that keeps you from advancing?

Prayer Focus

Here is an “8 Day Prayer Focus” to assist you as you press into the NEW this year. This focus is built around the Hebrew month of Shevat, the month of Asher. Remember, you can repeat this as many times as you wish. Also, you do not have to complete this Prayer Focus in only 8 days. The purpose is to help you become NEW!

DAY 1: Read and memorize John 14:12-13, “…ask anything in MY NAME and I will do it!” Stop and celebrate over these verses. This is a season of going beyond! We must see a manifestation of the Lord and His Glory in our midst so we can see our future. To manifest means to “reveal or cause something to shine or illuminate.” The Lord is saying “I will cause your way to shine!”

Rejoice each day as you speak this word forth into your atmosphere. Read these verses three times a day. STAY AVAILABLE TO THE IMPLICATIONS OF THE WORD! Don’t stop at your last blessing, but keep looking for new manifestations of God’s blessings in your life. Break any mindset that says, “This is all there is…I cannot see the Lord blessing me in new ways!” Also, don’t think that you are the source to produce your more! This is actually “a works” mentality that is rooted in poverty.

DAY 2: Read Matthew 24:32-36. Watch the NEW BUD that is coming forth! See what the fig tree teaches! How will what has dried up and not blossomed in the past begin to bear new fruit in your life? This month, press into the blossoming that will produce the fruit and the oil for your future. List on a sheet of paper what you wish to see blossom in your life. Review what has dried up and ask the Lord to show you a new “bud.” Also read Isaiah 35 and Haggai 2. Be willing to be shaken and pressed so the latter glory will be greater than the former. Feel the weight and pressing of His glory that will produce the oil for your future.

Finally, read Psalm 92. Declare that a new anointing will begin to manifest in you in the next several months. A nine month process is necessary for the olive tree to blossom, for its harvest to mature, and to be harvested for the production of oil. Decree that this month your blossoming begins. Expect the pressing and pouring out of your new anointing. Rejoice over the Latter Glory.

DAY 3: Read Genesis 22 and Isaiah 59. This is a season to connect generationally! This will produce a sustaining inheritance in the Lord. Our generations possess the gates. Ask the Lord to roll up all the blessings of your generational bloodline that have never manifested and cause those blessings to begin to manifest. This is a year of manifestation! In many of the first chapters of each book of the Bible, there is either a death or a birth.

DAY 4: Read Genesis 1, Exodus 1, Joshua 1, 1 Samuel 1, Matthew 1, and Acts 1. Certain things need to end so you can see your beginning. Let go of things in your bloodline that God exposes. Certain people will die and it will end a season for you. Others will be born. Honor those who have gone before you. Honor your father and mother so that you might live long and prosper. Receive the next amount of revelation to “possess the gates of your enemy.”

DAY 5: Read Genesis 15, Psalms 9 & 11, Isaiah 11, and 2 Corinthians 5-6. Memorize and meditate on Matthew 3:15. Ask the Lord what “one thing” you need to do to unlock your next phase. Jesus had to be baptized by John. Let your right standing come forth! The Lord is longing to crown you with righteousness. If we refuse to wear this crown, then the accuser will begin to attack and condemn you later in the year. Dominion comes when we wear this crown (Psalm 9). We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, but you must wear the crown of that righteousness. Our righteousness must become experiential.

Stand in your righteousness. Set your face to obey and to do what will keep you in right standing so the enemy can’t accuse you later for not doing something you should have done. Ask the Lord to reform the foundation for our standing. Some of you are having to make shifts because the foundations you stood on in the past seasons are too shaky for you to stand on in the next season. Some of you made great shifts back in July and September. Now allow the Lord to solidify your stance so you walk in the fullness of what He will cause to blossom.

DAY 6: Read Genesis 24-26. This is a time the Lord desires to remove stones from our wells, create new wells, and bring us into an enlarged place. He longs to water the roots of our future. The Spirit of God has been taking us through a process of pulling out old root systems that will not produce the necessary fruit for the next season. This month there is a new watering and refreshing which goes down deep into root systems that have not been watered. Look for those you are aligned with this month that can fill your pitchers for the future.

Let revelation and supply strategies be poured into you. At times, even that old religious structure can be your supply. This is a month that water will be poured out and turned to wine. Read John 2. Jesus had pots of water that were used for the purification ritual brought to Him and then He shifted everything. Look at all your alignments this month. New energy will arise in you. Your identity can be shifted and reformed suddenly! Also meditate on John 4.

DAY 7: This is a day of celebration. Meditate on your favorite Psalm. Spend this day celebrating. Do not let “joy robbers” stop you from experiencing God’s best. The Spirit of God will see to it that you celebrate. If you feel like your celebration is dwindling, just ask Him to release an anointing of gladness for three more days. This will sanctify you and cause you to press past that old season. This month the trees clap their hands. The wind blows in the mulberry trees. Read 2 Samuel 5.

Ask that your root system would be reformed and that the roots deep in you would be watered and flourish. Watch the trees. Watch some blossom prematurely. Watch others go into their place of nourishment. Watch how the winds blow through the trees this month. Watch the direction of the winds. Watch where the winds blow! Catch the wind that will allow you to come from behind–you can catch up quickly. Your bills will not overtake you this month. The strategy to catch up will overtake you, and you will move into that new place of victory. You will surprise the enemy this month! The Lord is saying, “I will give you cautions well in advance so you can shift the direction of your path.” Read Psalm 16!

DAY 8: The tribe of Asher is associated with the month of Shevat. Asher was linked with pleasure and happiness and with words like delicious and fat. His mother was Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid. Read Genesis 30:13 and Genesis 49. During movement and war, Asher was positioned between Dan and Naphtali (Numbers 2:27). The boundaries of the inheritance given to Asher (which contained some of the richest soil in Palestine) and the names of its towns are recorded in Joshua 19:24-31 and Judges 1:31-32. The wealth offered to this tribe could have been its downfall.

Pray for the economy this year. Great fluctuations and shakings will occur in the earth. One of the promises to Asher was that he would dip his heel in oil. Watch the oil structures this month and every nation aligned with oil, every state aligned with oil, and every place that is an oil reservoir. If you understand the effects of oil, how it effects the commodities, and know how to operate financially in that, you can do well! The automobile industry must begin to make a shift this month because of oil. We need to see new inventions this month, so watch for their announcement. They actually mean something this month.

Your anointing begins to be produced in a new way this month. Beware of falling into religious structures; trust for an anointing to come forth that will overthrow all old structures that have stopped you in the past. Memorize and meditate on Isaiah 10:27.

Anna, the prophetess, was of the tribe of Asher (Luke 2:36) and recognized the Christ child. Therefore, ask the Lord for a new dimension of discernment. Read Hebrews 4 and 5. Ask the Lord to bring us past milk. Let us digest the protein the Lord is giving us this month. Declare that we will step through the gate of life into a new type of nourishment. Go out with joy, delight and happiness!

Read Daniel 1. Remember Daniel and his friends ate vegetables. They were healthy and their faces radiated! Watch what you eat these next three months. Many fast at this time of year. There are many ways to fast. Let the Lord choose your fast at times (Isaiah 58). You must shift in certain patterns or else these patterns will remain with you the rest of the season ahead. Be willing to change so you are not captured in an old, familiar place. Let God tell you the one thing you need to do.

I was with one of my children’s friends and noticed that he had lost weight. He said that he lost 30 pounds by not drinking soft drinks or eating fast foods for the last three months. Don’t get in bondage in any ways this year–just ask the Lord to shift your appetite. It’s not really about eating, but about appetite and faith! Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you! Lay your hands on your esophagus and stomach and decree healing for the esophagus, stomach and digestive system of your body. Also, declare the Body of Christ will be able to digest new revelation. Ask the Lord to allow you to spiritually digest what you could not in the past season.

2008 is a Year of Gates! In this year of going through the gates, seek the Lord for His blessing each month. Find the places where the revelation of Heaven intersects with a gate in the earth realm. Revelation creates the entry way for your next opportunity. May the Word of God come alive in you in a new way. Receive a spirit of revelation. I decree that this is just a beginning of new manifestations in your life. You will see many things happen. May you see new prosperity, digest new revelation and receive a new anointing. May you create new inventions.

In Jesus’ name I send you into this Year of the Gates, the Year of New Beginnings and into all your blessings that will manifest and blossom.
